Un-boxing and review of Revell’s model Titanic (reference 05715) in 1/400 scale.
Here we are going through what is in the box. Firstly it’s obvious there’s a lot plastic in the box; but unfortunately too much, the amount of flash on almost every part demonstrates that this kit is being produced by some old and worn out moulds. This also means that detail is thick, and even the deck planking has raised – not recess – lines between the planks.
However, for a modeller who wants to put in the time and effort to refine the kit and add after-market items then this is a good starting point, but a lot of patience will be required.
The kit also contains some extra items which are interesting to look at, though unlikely to aid in the construction of the kit.
I have also purchased some Eduard photo-etch (for the Academy, not Revell kit), remote control LED lighting and making a custom stand.
